William Francesco Allen
MY STORY

At the age of 13, I found an 8mm camera in my parent’s attic and instantly discovered my love for making movies. Immediately, I submersed myself in the “masters”: the geniuses behind Jaws, Earthquake and Towering Inferno - and fantastic TV shows like Wonder Woman, Bionic Woman and the Six Million Dollar Man. My imagination overflowed and my summers and holidays were spent making films and paying homage to all my favorites (White Death click here).

By the time I was 17 and entered film school I had discovered the thrills of artistic expression, storytelling and personal meaning all inspired by my new masters: Hitchcock, Fellini, Kubrick, Coppola, Wilder et al. My first years at SMU in Dallas, Texas, I took those influences and made adaptations of Franz Kafka stories (A Dream click here), wrote my own scripts (Dissembler click here), created my first music video (The Editing Room click here), and filmed documentary-style shorts (Butterfly Kiss click here).

After graduating, I moved to LA and began work as an editor. Shortly thereafter, I started a spiritual journey that was not only across the globe but through my interior landscape as well. During this period of incredible growth, I continued to explore and sharpen my writing/directing/editing skills William Francesco Allenwith my own independent short films and also branched out to work in graphics, commercials, and my own marketing company (InJoyMarketing.com).

Film to me has always been a canvas upon which to express "who I am" and "who we are as a society" as well as a human race. For me, it is the greatest, most powerful and far-reaching art form: using sound, imagery and story to create and convey a virtual learning "experience" to anyone willing to go on a journey. It’s especially rewarding when done in collaboration with the best people with shared passions for bringing art, beauty, truth, storytelling and so much more into our global civilization and culture.
